Your data in ChessMemo

Your account and practice

ChessMemo stores your account email, imported game records, generated practice positions and review progress in Supabase. Authentication uses the cookies needed to keep you signed in. Signup and password-reset emails are delivered through our configured email service, Resend.

Your free personal preview

We keep one shared preview for each platform username. We store its first public game batch in Supabase and never refresh that batch with newer games. Once a tactic is independently verified, we retain only that puzzle and its public source game for repeat visits. Preview analysis runs on your device. A discovered puzzle and a signed copy of its public source game can stay in this browser for up to 24 hours to continue through signup. After you subscribe, we use the verified preview to save the position to your account; its game counts toward your monthly allowance. The free search does not create a subscription.

Payment

Whop processes payments and manages subscriptions. ChessMemo stores membership status and the account association needed to grant access. Card details are handled by Whop; they are not stored in our practice database.

Optional usage statistics

Sharing is off by default. If you enable it, we record a limited set of events, such as viewing the landing page, completing the sample, confirming an account, opening checkout and solving a personal puzzle. We use a random visit identifier that expires in your browser after 30 minutes. Your sharing preference is saved locally; the identifier is stored for that visit only.

For a consenting signup, a protected account-to-visit association lets us connect later membership activation and practice events to that visit. These statistics are pseudonymous, rather than fully anonymous. They do not contain your email, passwords, card details, game moves, IP address, full URLs or advertising identifiers. We do not use third-party advertising trackers for this measurement.

Usage records older than 90 days are removed when new measurement events are recorded. Turning sharing off removes the current visit’s measurement records and its account association when available. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control disable browser event collection. Operational account and billing records are separate.
